Following on from some of the alternate DFC pitches that have been posted, this was a strip I started working on but never got the opportunity to complete. It was a newspaper-strip in format that dealt in campy Sci-Fi, over-the-top set pieces and silly humour (the only type I'm capable of!) Hopefully I'll get the chance to pursue it again further down the line but for now here's a taste!
We're comic creators, writers and artists who are involved in The Phoenix (launching Jan 2012) and its predecessor, The DFC, the innovative British weekly comic published by David Fickling Books from May 2008 - Mar 2009. Here you can meet some of the very best British graphic storytellers, and this blog will share our news, art, comics, events and new projects. Enjoy!
That looks marvellous fun - I hope you get to do more.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Zak - love the giant sluggy monster! So this would have been a 4-panel gag strip type thing?
ReplyDeleteThanks Garen!
ReplyDeleteHey Neill! Sort of, it was more like a half page, so 2 rows of panels but it would have been an ongoing story with loads of mini-cliffhangers.
