Super Comics Adventure Squad daily on Twitter - what's going on with it?

Hey guys, I was just checking out the scas daily on twitter, and it's full of just loads of un-related comics stories from the various contributors' feeds. I think we should drop it, as it fills up the dfc twitter page and has nothing to do with the core product. Neill, what are your thoughts? Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

  1. Hmm, yeah - there's really no way to edit what links the daily paper gets made out of, so if people on the SCAS list are tweeting about non-comics stuff, that's what it makes it out of. It's annoying, as some days I find it really useful / handy but other times it can look a bit rubbish.

It's kind of exacderbated by periods like the xmas holidays where (a) lots of people on the list aren't tweeting at all, (b) those who are aren't tweeting about work / comics stuff, and (c) there's no other activity on the DFCLibrary feed to balance it out.

It might make more sense if it appeared on a SuperComicsAdventureSquad twitter feed (if we had one) rather than the official DFCLibrary one - which I agree, it probably shouldn't be on. Will delete it, anyway.

  2. Cheers Neil, I think it was a good idea, but as you said, no way of stopping all the non-dfc or comic related posts from filling it up. Cheers for removing it pal, and for setting it up in the first place! Hope all's going well for you bro!

  3. Hey. Hang on. Why delete it. Ok so there was some irrelevant stuff in there but hey, thats the nature of daily papers, no? I kinda liked it and its easy to skim through what you dont want to read.
So whats the alternative because its a shame to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

  4. The alternative would be to create a SuperComicsAdventureSquad account on twitter, and recreate the list and the paper on that account. And then everyone who posts to this blog could put stuff on that twitter account, too. I think that might be good - while I did like the SCAS paper, I do agree with Lorenzo that it was kind of clogging up the DFCLibrary feed with non-DFCLibrary-related business.

So - anyone up for a SCAS twitter account? I can set it up and stuff if people think it's a good idea? But I won't bother if not. U-DECIDE!

  5. I think a scas twitter account is probably the best way to go, as you said Neill, the problem with the daily paper on the dfc thread is that it just gets clogged with the same tweet again and again.

A scas-specific twitter page sounds like a good compromise?
