I took advantage of the sunny weather to get a few shots of my wife looking at the Mirabilis Volume One hardback, now just weeks away from UK release. These photos don't really do justice to the quality of the colour printing, which is the best I've seen. And look at the size of it - this is a real whopping great European album! More pics over on our blog. (And by the way, did you notice that t-shirt?)

Soooo excited about this, it looks INCREDIBLE!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic work guys!!
Lorenzo!
Thanks, Lorenzo! I've read that story soooo many times now - converting it to iPad, then resizing the pages for the US trade paperback, then again for the UK hardcover So I really thought I'd had enough of it, but the color repro in these books is so fantastic that I might have to sit down and read the whole thing all over again!
ReplyDeleteGutted to see we have to wait till October for Baggage. For some reason I'd got it into my head that it was coming out in the spring....? Oh well, I expect the year will fly by fast enough :-/
Absolutely wonderful to see these photos, reminds me of hooking up with you and Roz about a year ago and sitting in your garden with the sun shining as brightly as in these pics where among many subjects discussed was the Herculean task of releasing Mirabilis from the contractual shackles that seemed to be preventing the book ever appearing.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see those shackles finally unbound!
Indeed, Peter, the great news is that not only is Mirabilis now free to bask in the sunshine of a wide audience, but we seem to have blazed a trail that also means that great strips like Frontier and others will also get into publication. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Dave! Thanks for leading the way! It looks fab - can't wait to (re)read it in the new format! Lovely talking to Leo at Kapow by the way!
ReplyDeleteAh, Dave, I cannot WAIT to get my hands on a copy of that bad boy!! Yes, Baggage was originally slated for release in March this year, but got put back to October to hit the Christmas lists!
ReplyDeleteLorenzo!
Awesome stuff. These books are, like you say, BIG! Will be great to see how well they go down in Europe.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for blazing the trail :-)
AW
