mr meecher the uncool teacher -- in *the dandy* NOW!

hello, haven't posted here in a long while -- i always have trouble logging into blogger for some reason... anyway, i thought i'd go through the reset-password malarkey in order to drop by and mention that my strip *mr meecher the uncool teacher* has begun a six week run in *the dandy*. this week he's teaching geography in his own inimitable style. there's pain, there's heartache, and there's papier-maché.

there's loads of other good stuff in there, too -- go on, go buy a copy!

  1. This may well be the first copy of The Dandy I've ever bought, but I can't miss this strip, can I. The only thing that would make it better is if you could get your grave-robber character into the comic too, Will!

  5. Hey Will - no, I used to get TV21, Valiant, then Wham and Pow, which reprinted Spider-Man and Daredevil, and from there straight to US comics. As a kid I never bought a copy of the Dandy - though now I have *two* reasons to get it. Never too late...

  7. Bizarre the way this has worked out. The Dandy is the new DFC in a strange kinda way. I hope all you guys will still be available to support DF when he relaunches. :-)

  8. i've thought that myself -- or at least, it's evolving into something like the DFC might have been if it had been an all-humour comic -- that's the big difference, there are no 'serious' adventure stories.
oh and the celeb stuff in the dandy (which is pretty horrible, has to be said)

but the similarities are striking, especially with them putting young mr smart's stuff all over it -- not just his strips, but i mean all the little sort of ident extras.

  9. Jamie was actually really involved in the re-design of the comic, right up to the logo, but let's not forget, he's been doing Desperate Dan in there since BEFORE the dfc even existed!
