First look: BAGGAGE!

 

Well, after a month in and out of hospital I'm finally taking my first steps back into the real world, and what better way to return than with one of the most exciting things that's dropped through the mailbox in, like, forever! Yes, as Robin is showing in the photo above, those lovely folks over at DFB sent us through our first two super-advance copies of BAGGAGE, and boy is it a beauty! The book is released in just under six weeks time, so stay tuned for previews, exclusives, and news of launch party goodness!

Thanks to all who have helped me during my illness, I'll be doing a proper post on that next week!

Happy Mo-Bot High Day!

Vern and Lettuce go live!!!

Vern and Lettuce land today! Hopefully you can find them at a bookshop near you... if not, PESTER THEM 'TIL THEY GIVE IN! :D

Vern and Lettuce mark the occasion by launching their own online magazine, set in their world of Pickle Rye. It's a town without humans, where animals get up to all sorts of shenanigans as well as going about their day-to-day lives.

Saturday 30th October: MCM Expo London. TBC.

Sunday 31st October: Cartoon Museum DFC Workshops and signing day. London.

Nine days...

H-okay, so I'm going to do my best to dedicate this coming month purely to MONKEY NUTS: The Diamond Egg of Wonders!, since September the 2nd is national Monkey Nuts day, due to the launch of the first book in the series.

Neill Cameron and I (Sarah McIntyre) had a great time this weekend in Oxford at Caption comics festival, and we managed to snag a preview copy each of Mo-Bot High and Vern and Lettuce... score! And I finally found out what the inside of a Mo-Bot looks like. I swear, Neill is a total mad scientists when it comes to his robots, he's thought of EVERYTHING. I read his book on the train ride home and was in designer robot bliss.

Vern and Lettuce are ready to roll

Here's a rough mockup of the Vern and Lettuce illustration I did for the upcoming Cheltenham lit fest. And other great news, I got to see my first copies of the Vern and Lettuce book and guys, it is looking FABULOUS! I only got a glimpse of Mo-Bot High and Monkey Nuts before they were whisked away, but they're looking amazing, too! Way to go, people! :D

The Spider Moon - Launch Party!

I know I said there probably wasn't going to be one, but eh, I guess I lied! The [rather belated] Spider Moon launch party (is it more of an unlaunch party? Like an unbirthday?) will totally be in Oxford on 6th August from 7-9pm.

We've literally just sent out email invites, however, I'm very concerned I have missed some emails since I was not able to locate some people's addresses, so... if you or anyone else you know might like to come along, please shoot me an email!
